MUSJID Project Funding Proposal
Alhamdulillah the Brisbane Islamic Centre (BIC) has commenced and completed initial works on it’s site at 161 Underwood Road, Eight Mile Plains. Brisbane. These works included vegetation clearing and earthworks.
The 10-acre land acquisition and above works have largely been funded by generous donors and by members of the community to a total of approximately $3.5 million. The property has been donated (Waqf) and is held in a trust entity and is unencumbered.
The project is now entering its next phase Insha-Allah with actual construction of the building itself to commence by October 2021.
The commencement date, progress and the success of the project is dependent on the Centre final Operation works approval from Council and receiving your financial support.

At end of Year 1 construction, you may continue you contribution or make a few choices

In summary Insha-Allah the way forward is as follows:
- The entire Musjid Complex project (including land and earthworks) + building construction is estimated to be $20-22 million.
- Construction of the Musjid building itself is estimated at $18 million.
- Estimated construction period to be 3 years.
- Funding required per year for each of the 3 years is $6.3 million.
- Ongoing donations can be from $50 to $2500 per month to be committed over 12 months by way of a bank debit order. During the initial 12-month period, should your financial circumstances change, you will be at liberty to opt out of the debit order arrangement at any time.
- This strategy of a regular donation rather than a lump sum will allow us to plan forward and meet our funding targets.
- Should you be in a position to make a lump sum Donation, that will also be appreciated.
- The following table provides a recommendation of how you can assist the project in achieving its target for the first year.
- Donation formats are NOT limited to this table, they may be smaller or larger amounts OR made in 1 lump sum, OR donors may choose to make weekly payments.
- Please feel free to discuss other options that best suits you with any of our committee members.
- We also welcome donations in kind, such as building material, labor, other personal, professional or business expertise.

- either continue on a similar basis as the previous year for a further 12 months
- increase or decrease their donations
- for whatever reason to stop their contributions.
