Our Vision
In mid 2000's a group of like minded individuals recognised the lack of any Retirement or Aged care facility specifically catering to the spiritual and culinary needs of the Muslim Community.
So the seeds having been planted began to germinate in our minds at least for the next few years ... to establish a facility to cater for our community, whilst open to members of ALL faith and communities, to provide these services within an Islamic ethos.
A few years later after we obtained the Development Approval for an Islamic Centre at 161 Underwood Road in Eight Mile Plains, we recognised that the balance of the available land could serve this vision and dream.
Having been through the preliminary proposals and discussions, we submitted a formal Development Approval Application to the Brisbane City Council for this project, and trust that the Council sees the merits and need for such a Centre.

RETIREMENT VILLAGE, AGED CARE, DEMENTIA UNITS, MEDICAL CENTRE & CHILDCARE CENTRE.
This will be situated on the northern part of the 10 acre property, fronting onto Underwood road.
A development application was lodged with the Brisbane City Council at the end of November 2019. The process and time for council to consider this application and approve it can be between 12- 18 months.
The Centre is designed to include:
- 91 x 2 & 3 bedroom Retirement units
- 20 Aged Care units
- 10 Dementia care units
- A 250 square meter medical Centre
- A 75-place childcare centre.
BIC has submitted the application to the Brisbane City Council for our proposed Aged Care Facility "Sukoon Village", which will have 91 Retirement units, 20 Aged care units and 10 Dementia units.
The centre will also include a Childcare Centre and a Medical Centre. Studies have shown that the concept of Aged care and Childcare together has significant benefit for the elderly especially those with Dementia.
Australia as we all know has an ageing population and dementia is on the increase in all communities. It affects many of our loved ones and their families. This facility aims to have dedicated dementia units which will be much needed to support our loved ones suffering with this incurable illness. The units will also help the families to cope better with this difficult diagnosis.
This will a unique facility in Queensland and will be open to all.
The Centre will be professionally managed according to the Government standards, rules and guidelines which apply for any Retirement village in the wider community. The tenure models are still to be confirmed, but will always be in keeping with the Guidelines for Retirement villages as regulated by the Queensland Government.
